Dear GI Friends,
On Mondays, I often find myself drinking one too many cups of coffee and wishing I could swap my scrubs for pajama pants. But today is different because it's the start of SGNA GI Nurses and Associates Week 2016! This week will consist of daily activities and special sales that honor the pride we all share for gastroenterology.
I am proud to be an infection prevention leader
. Infection prevention continues to be critical in delivering safe patient care. Earlier this year, SGNA announced the release of two infection prevention practice documents. There was a new revision featuring additional steps in reprocessing to the SGNA Standards of Infection Prevention in Reprocessing Flexible Gastrointestinal Endoscopes
. SGNA also released a new standard to enhance safety, the SGNA Standard of Infection Prevention in the Gastroenterology Setting
Join SGNA experts tomorrow, Tuesday, March 22 at 6:00 pm central time for a live webinar that discusses the new document: Standard of Infection Prevention in the Gastroenterology Setting
. Register today
for this educational webinar offered live which includes one (1) contact hour, and is generously supported by Olympus.
As we begin to creep out of the winter months and think of the warm weather, I also want to encourage you to join my team as an Infection Prevention Champion. Be part of the next session, and get connected with motivated, passionate people working to ensure their unit is maintaining the highest standards of patient care. I'm in! Are you? Pre-enroll today
Already have a unit Champion? Today is the perfect opportunity to honor them; whether it's a high five or a card, give them a pat on the back for all their hard work.
Have a fantastic week, and stay tuned for additional information from SGNA about how to continue celebrating GI Nurses and Associates Week.
Later GI Gators!
